JC Daniel Award is a part of the annual Kerala State Film Awards, awarded for the lifetime achievements and contributions to Malayalam film industry. JC Daniel Award is instituted in memory of the father of Malayalam Cinema - Sri J. C. Daniel. The award was instituted in 1992 by Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala and the first winner of J.C Daniel Award was T.E Vasudevan, legendary Malayalam movie producer who produced hit movies like ‘Nair Pidicha Pulivaal’. And the recent winner of J.C. Daniel Award 2010 is Navodaya Appachan.
