Acharya Vinoba Bhave was the first Indian to win the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1958. Acharya Vinoba Bhave is considered as spiritual successor of Mahatma Gandhi and is regarded as the National Teacher of India. Vinoba Bhave is well known for the Bhoodan Movement (Land Gift Movement).
