Indira Gandhi was the first woman winner of Bharat Ratna in 1971. Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award in India. Born on 1917 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, Indira Gandhi was also the First woman Prime Minister of India for 3 consecutive terms from 1966 to 1977. She was the 3rd third Prime Minister of the Republic of India.
