The JC Daniel Award 2010 was awarded to Navodaya Appachan for his outstanding contributions to Malayalam cinema. Navodaya Appachan, also known as Maliampurackal Chacko Punnoose (M.C. Punnoose), is the founder of Navodaya Studio and is a famous Indian film producer and director.
The J. C. Daniel Award, a part of the Kerala State Film Awards, is an annual award instituted by the Government of Kerala. The award is given in honour of J. C. Daniel – who is regarded as the father of Malayalam Cinema. Instituted in 1992, the first winner of J. C. Daniel Award was T. E. Vasudevan. JC Daniel Award is presented for the lifetime achievements in to Malayalam cinema.
