The Muslim League was formed in 1906 under the leadership of Nawab Salimullah Khan, Aga Khan and Nawab Mohsin-ul-pMulk. It was Muhammed Iqbal, a famous a Muslim poet and philosopher, who gave the idea of a separate Muslim state in the Muslims in India. The Muslim League took this idea and it finally led to the establishment of a separate state for Muslims – the Pakistan. Sir Muhammad Iqbal was regarded as the father of the idea of Pakistan.
At the Lahore session of the Muslim League in March 1940, Muhammad Ali Jinnah gave his infamous Two Nation Theory. And on 23rd March 1943, the Muslim League observed the “Pakistan Day”.
Following Jinnah’s failure to get the cabinet mission to recognize his claim for Pakistan, he announced Direct Action. Muhammad Ali Jinnah later became the first Governor of Pakistan. He is also known as the “Father of Pakistan”.
