Iron Pillar in Delhi belongs to Gupta Period and is built during the period of King Chandragupta II, who is popularly known as Vikramaditya. The Iron Pillar is 7.21 meters (23 ft 8 in) tall is located within the courtyard of Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque. Numerous inscriptions and graffiti of different dates can be seen in the pillar. Among them the oldest inscription is in Sanskrit, written in Gupta-period Brahmi script.
