Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
It is the only mountain zoo in America located in Colorado Springs, USA. The zoo has a collection of more than 700 animals with 100 different species and including more than 30 endangered species. Unique animals in the zoo includes Mexican gray wolf, African elephants, Okapi, moose, naked mole rats, Amur tiger, grizzly bear, African lions, Hoffman’s two-toed sloth and Nile hippopotamuses. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo also develops a giraffe breeding program with 199 births since 1954. It is a non profitable organisation and Zoo’s income is generated from earned revenues, gate admissions, gifts, membership dues, donations, corporate sponsors and grants.
