Kimigayo or Kimi Ga Yo, the National Anthem of Japan, is regarded as the oldest National anthem of the world. Kimi Gayo Japanese National Anthem is also one of the shortest national anthems currently in use in the world. The lyrics of Kimigayo is based on a Waka poem written in the Heian period (794-1185) and the national song is with a length of 11 measures and 32 characters.
