First Woman DGP Kanchan Choudhary Bhattacharya

Kanchan Choudhary Bhattacharya is the first woman Director General of Police (DGP) in India. An IPS officer of 1973 batch, Kanchan Bhattacharya was the second lady IPS officer in India after Kiran Bedi. She severed as DGP in Uttarakhand state.

Kanchan Choudhary Bhattacharya is now a part of the National Commission for Women after retiring from service in 2007.

Smita Sabharwal is a 2001 Cadre IAS officer. A very young age UPSC Topper, Smita got 4th r
