The Bharatpur bird sanctuary nests indigenous water-birds, waterside birds and migratory birds along with its other inhabitants such as Sambar, Chital, Nilgai and Boar. A perfect place to go for bird watching, the sanctuary is one of the best in the world.
The major attractions among the tourists in the Bharatpur bird sanctuary are migratory birds, who fly from places as far as Siberia and Central Asia, especially during the winters(Indian). Some of the migratory birds which make the quiet atmosphere of the sanctuary lively by their melodious enchants are species of Cranes, Pelicans, Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks and Pipits etc.
Hunting is strictly prohibited in the park.
