TATA ARIA

Tata Aria

Tata Aria
No other indigenous motor company has been able to create a niche for itself the way Tata Motors has done in India and in the offshore markets. It is India’s largest passenger automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturing company. Headquartered in Mumbai, Tata Motors is one of the world's largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles with manufacturing bases in Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Pune and Singur. The company was established in 1945 by JRD Tata and started out by making trains. Tata Motors is just a part of the Tata banner. The Tata group, known previously as TELCO, i.e.,’ Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company’, has many ventures that also include a steel making plant and a tea producing company. Its progression from being a locomotive and truck manufacturer to a passenger car manufacturer has been stupendous. Currently headed by Ratan Tata, it exports vehicles to various countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America. Several firsts are credited to it such as being the first company to manufacture India’s indigenous car, Tata Indica and being the first from India’s engineering sector to be listed in the ‘New York Stock Exchange’ (NYSE). Another first in its kitty is the Tata Aria, a luxurious four wheel crossover that combines the finesse of a multi-utility vehicle and the vigor of a ‘sports utility vehicle’ (SUV). For more, scoop through the information below.

Design & Comfort
What makes the Tata Aria a definite eye-catcher is its bold proportions, seamless lines and its appealing aesthetics with a roofline that has chrome detailing. With bold designing punctuating the qualities of a sedan, the chrome detailing on the sides only enhances the premium class of Aria. The interiors of this crossover model exude the same magnificence in design, layout and visual charm. Inside the Aria, there is a spacious cabin with three rows of theatre-styled seating. The middle row is collapsible and this makes for greater legroom and space for luggage. The richness of the interior is further illustrated by the premium leather upholstery. There are AC vents on the pillars and roofs and the driver’s seat height is adjustable too. The steering wheel tilt is adjustable and that makes driving a more comfortable and pleasurable experience. The automatic climate control ensures that the cabin temperature remains ambient throughout the drive. You need not turn around while reversing as there is a ‘Reverse Camera Guide’ to help you out. You need not get jittery about losing your way as the ‘In-dash Navigation System’ guides you to make sure you reach your destination without losing your way. The ‘Driver Information System’ gives details regarding important drive data while the ‘Darkness sensing Lights’ turn on automatically as do the ‘Rain Sensing wipers’. Adding to the unique features of the Aria are utility bins, a glove-box chiller and conveniently placed cup holders that keep all you need within easy reach.

Engine
Power in all variants of the Tata Aria comes from a 2.2 liter ‘Direct Injection Common Rail’ (DICOR) diesel engine. The four cylinder unit generates a maximum power of 140 PS and a torque of 320 Nm.

Safety
To make the Tata Aria as safe as possible, a slew of new safety features have been added to it. Some common features include two airbags, child safety lock, parking sensors, five rear seat belts and fog lamps. The special modern features which up the safety index are the anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, electronic stability program, cruise control, side shock grins within the doors, auto unlocking of the doors throughout accidents and a GPS navigation system.

Variants & Price
You can choose between four variants of the Aria, namely, Aria Pleasure, Aria Pride, Aria Prestige, and Aria Prestige Leather. It is priced approximately at Rs. 14.5-16.5 lakhs.
