Maruti Gypsy

Design and Interiors
New model of Gypsy is available with a wider track and all-round leaf suspension. But the original three-door layout has been kept unchanged. The vehicle features a sturdy structure, which is specially designed to ensure smooth drive in rugged terrain. Another advantage is its light weight. However, little legroom and high-floor seats make it not so suitable for family use.
The vehicle is equipped with a handy grab-rail and lockable glove box. The front seats of the SUV have been high-set to give the driver commanding view of the road. The soft-top variant of the vehicle has two centre-facing benches, while the hardtop Gypsy has the usual seat.

The car is available in three variants - Soft top, Hard top and Ambulance. It is available in the range of Rs 4.8 lakhs to Rs. 5.1 lakhs.
Engine
Maruti Gypsy has MPFI engine with maximum power of 80 bhp @ 6000 rpm enabling it to move through rugged terrain. The maximum torque of vehicle is 103 Nm @ 4500 rpm. The 1300 cc gasoline engine is lighter than the diesel one, giving better control and power.
Safety
Its parts are designed to withstand higher rotational speeds as well as reduced wear and tear. The steering damper grants protection to the steering wheel, thereby avoiding discomfort of jerks. But Gypsy lacks reel-type seatbelts and airbags, a major drawback of safety measures in it.
