Kiran Bedi

BANGALORE: Only those youth with adequate training about governance and related issues should enter politics and cleanse the system from the roots, said Kiran Bedi, one of the key members of India Against Corruption.

"Yes, the youth must enter politics. But only considering it as a public service and not for the sake of power. The process should start from one's student days by way of involvement in community service. The civil society should groom such people. They should have spotless character. Rotary Club should take up more responsibility and start schools to train such people on governance and democracy," Bedi said. She was delivering a lecture on the topic "Changing India - need for youth to consider politics as vocation" at the 36th Rotary district conference 'Akarshan' in Bangalore on Saturday.

Dual core technology refers to two individual microprocessors on a single die cast chip. This is essentially two computer processing units (CPUs) in one. The advantage of a dual core chip is that tasks can be carried out in parallel streams, decreasing processing time. This is referred to as thread-level parallelism (TLP).

TLP is also possible on motherboards that can accommodate two separate CPU dies. When TLP is accomplished in a single CPU through dual core technology, it is called chip-level multiprocessing (CLM).

In dual core CPUs, each microprocessor generally has its own on-board cache, known as Level 1 (L1) cache. L1 cache significantly improves system performance, because it is much faster to access on-chip cache than to use random access memory (RAM). L1 cache is accessed at microprocessor speeds.

Dual core chips also commonly feature secondary shared cache on the CPU, known as Level 2 (L2) cache. Motherboards may also have a cache chip designated as Level 3 (L3) cache. While faster than RAM, L3 cache is slower than cache built into the dual core chip.

Dual core technology has advantages over double-core or twin-core technology. These latter terms refer to two independent CPUs installed on the same motherboard. Dual core chips take up less real estate on the motherboard, have greater cache coherency, and consume less power than two independent CPUs. However, dual core technology also has its drawbacks.

For software to take advantage of dual core architecture, it must be written to utilize parallel threading. Otherwise, the program functions in single-core mode, using just one data stream or one of the built-in microprocessors. Unfortunately, coding for TLP is quite intensive, as interleaving shared data can create errors and slow performance. Because of these and other issues, a dual core processor does not deliver twice the speed of a single-core processor, though there is a significant increase in performance under optimal conditions. Finally, dual core chips run hotter than their single-core cousins.

Whether a dual core processor is right for you will depend on what you plan to use your computer for. If the programs you regularly require are designed for TLP, then you may benefit greatly from a dual core chip. If not, you may be better served by a high-end single-core CPU.
Famous Inspirational and Motivational Thirukkural Quotes by Thiruvalluvar. Tirukkural or simply Kural is a masterpiece of Tamil literature written by Thiruvalluvar, who lived between 2nd and 6th Century AD. Each of Thirukkural couplets are written in the form of two line poems and each talks about the various aspects of human life.

Motivational Thirukkural Quotes by Tamil Poet Thiruvalluvar

The lotus flower rises to the level of water; Greatness of men rises with mental strength.

Learning is the true imperishable wealth; Other things are not wealth.

As water changes its nature, from the nature of the soil in which it flows, so will the character of men resemble that of their associates.

That which God gives, nobody can ban. That which God bans, nobody can give.

Friendship is not just a smile on the face; It is what is felt deep within a smiling heart.
Rakhi festival or Raksha Bandhan festival is one of the most popular Hindu festivals in India, which celebrates the sacred bond of love between brothers and sisters. The term Raksha Bandhan is originated from the Hindi language, which means a relationship or an association based on protection. Rakshabandhan festival, which has a long standing Indian heritage, is more commonly known as Rakhi.

Rakhi festival is celebrated on the Shravan Purnima (full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan (July - August), where in sisters tie the sacred Rakhi thread on their brothers right wrists, and pray for their long life. Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is called by various names such as Vish Tarak (the destroyer of poison), Punya Pradayak (the offer of boons), and Pap Nashak (the destroyer of sins). The 2012 Rakhi festival date is on 2nd August 2012 (Tuesday).

The auspicious Rakhi Thread

As Rakhi signifies the various phases of protection from evil forces, as a mark of this, the sister ties Rakhi string to her brother’s hand. The Raksha Bandhan thread is tied on the right wrist of brothers who in return take a pledge to protect their sisters from all evils. This Rakhi thread binds brothers and sisters into a bond of affection and care for each other. These threads in ancient times used to have simple traditional looks. However, in the modern times, Rakhis are made more attractive, finely blown up using various artistic patterns. Finest quality soft cloth, shimmering beads, stones and zari are used these days to create Rakhi threads. They are also made of silk with gold and silver threads, beautifully crafted embroidered sequins, and studded with semi precious stones.

How is Rakhi Festival celebrated in India?

The traditional way of celebrating Rakhi festival starts with the offerings made to the family deities. Then, the sisters prepare the Thali for the puja which contains the Rakhi threads, kumkum (vermillion) powder, rice grains and an earthen or metal lamp called diya , incense sticks and sweets. They perform the aarti to the brother with the thali and tie the rakhi. They apply the kumkum powder or Tilak on the forehead of the brother and offers sweets. When doing this ritual, the sister prays for her brother's well being. The brother in turn blesses the sister and promises to protect her from the evils of the world. Rakhi gifts are offered to the sisters, as a token of love and affection.

Legendary Importance

A part in the Indian epic Mahabharatha narrates the divine bond of brother-sister love between Lord Krishna and Draupathi.

Lord Krishna, during his battle with the evil King Shishupal, was hurt and left with bleeding finger. Draupathi, on seeing this, tore a strip of cloth from her sari and tied around his wrist to stop the bleeding. Lord Krishna was bounded by her sisterly love and he promised her to repay this debt whenever required. Years later, the Pandavas lost Draupathi in the game of dice. When Kauravas started removing her sari, Lord Krishna helped her by elongating the sari so that they could not remove it.

Though, Rakhi Festival is more famous in north and western region of India, Raksha Bandhan festival is celebrated with much religious importance all over India. Rakshabandhan is celebrated as Nariyal Purnima in West India, Kajari Purnima in Central India, Pavitropanain in Gujarat.

If you go to IRCTC website to book a ticket today you will see a notice on the website that you can book a Tatkal ticket between 10 AM to 12 PM. The all new rules are to stop misuse of Tatkal ticket booking service. If an individual user go for a tatkal ticket he will hardly get one, if he go to an agent the agent will manage one for him on a premium rate, premium rate is almost 3 times more than actual rate.

Previous tatkal ticket booking time was 8 Am to 10 AM but it is 10 AM to 12 PM. And many other rules are now effective to take down touts. By the time how the service will be improved, we still have to wait and watch but it seems things will get a little (?) better because touts won’t stop.

Now normal users can book Tatkal ticket from 10 AM to 12 PM and only two ticket are possible in a single day on a single IP address, so having more than one computer or more than one account won’t help touts to book tickets as normal users.

IRCTC agents can book ticket after 12 PM and only one ticket for one train, this rule is same for online and offline ticket booking agents. On ticket counter there will be a separate line for Tatkal ticket booking from 10 to 10.30 AM.

Indian railway also managed for more powerful servers to handle online traffic load, this may help online users...
