Guernica is a painting by Pablo Picasso, a famous painter and sculptor from Spain. Pablo Picasso most renowned work was the Guernica painting, he portrayal in response to the German bombing of Guernica in Basque Country in 1937, during the Spanish Civil War. The Guernica painting by Picasso portrays the tragedies of war and the sufferings of innocent peoples due to the bombing by Germany. Through the painting, Picasso wanted to the world’s attention to sufferings and losses of innocent civilians in the Basque town of Guernica. Pablo Picasso completed the mural by mid June 1937 and the Guernica painting was first exhibited at the Paris International Exposition in the 1937 World's Fair in Paris.

The original Guernica painting is now displayed at the Museo Reina Sofía, Spain's national museum of 20th century art in Madrid, Spain.

Other famous paintings of Pablo Picasso are Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and The Weeping Woman (1937).

Karimeen, also known as Green Chromide or Pearl Spot, is the state fish of Kerala, southern India. Kari Meen is a freshwater fish found throughout Kerala, especially in the Kerala Backwaters of Alappuzha, backwaters of Andhra Pradesh, and in western flowing rivers in Karnataka. The scientific name of Karimeen is “Etroplus Suratensis”. 

The Government of Kerala has declared Karimeen as the State Fish or State aquatic animal on 8th July 2010 and the declared 2010 – 2011 as Karimeen Year to increase fish farming, production and sales.

Earlier in 2008, The National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources Lucknow, under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, has suggested Karimeen fish as the State Fish of Kerala. 


Karimeen Pollichathu, Karimeen Masala, Karemeen Molly, and Karimeen Fry are some of the important delicious dishes prepared by people all over Kerala, and especially Kuttanad. 

Currently eight states in India have their on state fishes. 
Ustad Ahmad Lahauri, also known as Ustad Isa, is the chief architect of Taj Mahal in India. Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders in the World, was build by the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (Shah Jehan) in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Ustad Ahmad Lahauri was an architect in the court of Shahjehan.

Ustad Ahmad Lahauri was one of the greatest architects during the Mughal Empire in India. He also had laid the foundations of the Red Fort at Delhi. The claims that Ustad Ahmad Lahauri was the designer of Taj Mahal is based on a claim made in writings by Lutfullah Muhandis, the son of Lahauri.

Taj Mahal is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. This Indian architectural marvel became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.

Dronacharya Award, named after Drona - the royal guru of Arjuna of Mahabharata, is an annual award presented by Indian Government for excellence in sports coaching. Instituted in 1985, Dronacharya Award consists of a bronze statuette of Dronacharya and a cash prize of Rs. 5, 00, 000. The name Dronacharya award was considered appropriate as the best sportsperson award is named Arjuna Award, and hence the best coaching award be named after Guru Dronacharya.

The first recipients of Dronacharya Award in 1985 were O.M. Nambiar for Athletics, Bhalchandra Bhaskar Bhagwat for Wrestling, and Om Prakash Bhardwaj for Boxing. 

The 2012 Dronacharya Award was issued to various sports persons and coaches for their contribution in the field of sports. Shri B.I. Fernadez is the First Foreign Coach who was awarded by Dronacharya Award in 2012.
